Black clouds forming again
Feel that change in the wind
Even the crows have abandoned the trees
Forces of nature will do as they please

Before I slip into the dawn

Here comes that ominous sound
Flood walls tumbling down
There’s no denying the climate has changed
Storm of the century five times since May

It’s the seventeenth of September and finally tonight
The last battles have ended
See the sheets on the line waving white in surrender

The whole house washes downstream
Time rolls over the scene
All of my footprints lead out of the frame
Even the crows have forgotten my name
